Arturo`s Mexican Restaurant in Des Moines

Well... I don't usually write reviews but i must say I am quite disappointed. I ordered a chicken tamale with Chile verde and got pork with chile rojo instead. When I called to report the order being wrong the sweet lady at the front told me that the the cook/owner? Stated that it was indeed chicken marinated in red sauce. He refused to listen not only to his employee but the customer as well and and insisted that I did not know the difference between pork and chicken, which is very rude. I will not be returning.

It's ok if u like Latino music, very loud sound system. Sound even better with some Slipknot or Tool...

Very good food. Different from then places like Azteca etc...

Absolutely love this place. One of the few Mexican places in the area that I found that puts more of a gourmet twist on their dishes than the vast majority of the other places in the area. I have tried several of the dishes so far and I have yet to find one that disappoints. The staff is friendly as well. 5 stars for sure!

Great food going again soon

Best margaritas I’ve had in a long time. Food was delicious and the service was great. We’ve been there three times and will definitely return.

Took 1.75 hrs for late lunch (230pm). Only 3 tables occupied. Actual meal took 10 minutes. Waited 30 minutes to be served and an hour for the check. Server had to get cook to help figure up the bill. Food itself was barely warm.

Nice bar, well divided, great food. Comfortable decor.

It was just okay. I had the ground beef enchiladas. Server was very nice. Price was good. Just not the flavor I really wanted or the size.

The service and wait was terrible. There was one table seated when we arrived and it took almost 20 minutes before the waitress took our order. She spent the whole time telling us how busy she was......the food was about americanized fast food quality, nothing I would consider to be sit down dinner. If we hadn't been starving we would have left.

Big plates that taste delicious and doesn't break the bank

Maybe I caught them on a bad day. Food was not good. Although I like lime, I think maybe too much lime was used in sauce which made it hard to eat and acidic.

Came for Monday lunch, was pretty empty, super fast and friendly service.Got the chipotle chicken enchilada, was creamy and good, recommend. Forgot to take a before picture, so I have a to go box pictured.I’d go back for their happy hour too, seems like a nice spot, looking forward to it. Thanks!

This place is excellent! The service was quick and polite, the food was great not generic Mexican this had the authentic taste and the quantities are not huge just because they are not flooding a huge plate with beans and rice like some places do. The atmosphere is very nice and the place is clean. We would recomend this to anyone near or traveling throufh DesMoines

It was pretty good. The salsa could be a little hotter. The 2 lady's taking care of me tonight were very good. Menu has everything you would want.

Most americanized mexican food I've ever had. First time I've had to cover my food in hot sauce because it was so bland.

My wife and I were passing through Seattle on our way to Japan. We looked up Mexican restaurants and found Arturo's. They only had a few reviews, but all the reviews were very positive. We decided to give them a try and we were extremely happy with our decision. The chips and salsa were great, we ordered the 7 layer dip and that was very fresh and tasted great. When our entrees came out we were surprised to see how much food we got. Everything we ordered was delicious and the service was great. The next time we come through Seattle we will definitely eat here again.

My family and friends absolutely love this restaurant. The owner, Arturo, always makes us feel special, remembers my name and goes all out to make every dining experience special. The food is so awesome! Service is great, to notch, including your drinks always kept full. This is not same old Mexican food you can get anywhere, this is really special and fantastic. If you stop once, you will come again and again.

Enjoyable and tasty

Such great service. Joel was the right level of attentive and kind. Our lunch was hot and quite delicious. I got an a la carte enchilada and tostada and my colleagues got the quesadilla...will definitely get the lunch quesadilla next time. Looked like it was the right level of crispy! Wish there were more options to make things pescatarian or vegetarian, but I also didn't ask for those substitutions. Mainly because of the probably increase in price.

In fairness Arturo’s food is pretty good (close to 4 stars). My wife and I have been there approximately 10 times now. The reason I’m giving two stars is because they have a tendency to close early. Today, I showed up at 6:30p when they are scheduled to close at 10p. They told me they were closing early because they didn’t have enough business. Here are some words of wisdom... if you close earlier than expected, your customers will view you as less reliable which equals less business. Stick with what you say you are planning to do or you’ll be the next restaurant to shut down. I have skipped on Arturo’s a few times because I suspected they would close an hour or two early. Whoever the manager and/or owner is, you should know better...

Good, authentic food, great service....a little pricey for the portions but I think that's just the Seattle area.

I like this place and their food is amazing. I will definitely recommend Arturo to anyone who loves Mexican food

The food and the service was great I would have gave this place of five star rating but there were a lot of fruit flies flying around while we were trying to eat our lunch.

Not authentic at all!!! I had the shrimp cocktail and It was the worst. It was missing several ingredients like cucumbers,celery and jalapenos. Do yourself a favor and go somewhere. Taco Bell is better if you are looking for Americanized "Mexican food". Never again!!! $15.00 for the cocktail was way too much considering all they did was mix tomato juice with the tomatoe sauce that they serve with the chips added shrimp which still had the tails on them. If I could give them zero stars I would.

Try the ground beef spinach enchiladas with green sauce so good.not on menu but if you ask they will make it. Joe the bartender, cook, server he dies everything is awesome. So nice and makes you feel special.

The food was delicious and colorful. I could tell it was actually cooked with real meat and veggies the atmosphere is bright and colorful. Would definitely recommend

This place deserves to have more customers. Food has been great both times I've been there so far, and is very reasonably priced. They have happy hours, lunch specials, and great deals during Seahawks games.

Good margaritas and so far all the dishes have been wonderfull especially the camerones. Love the view from the terrace.

Stopped in after going around the block a couple times. So glad I did! Found my NEW FAVORITE Hispanic restaurant.
